BACKGROUND:
On December 16, 2022, Governor Ron DeSantis signed Senate Bill 4-A, allocating $350 million dollars to local governments impacted by Hurricane Ian and Hurricane Nicole. The City of Ocala was impacted by both storms and qualified for this grant funding due to Hurricane Nicole.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The City of Ocala was awarded a grant from the Florida Division of Emergency Management in the amount of $43,355. During Fiscal Year 2023-24, the City of Ocala will pass this grant funding to the Community Foundation who will pass the funding to the nonprofit Estella Byrd Whitman Wellness Center. The Estella Byrd Whitman Wellness Center focuses on primary and preventative healthcare and education to the local community and West Ocala.
