BACKGROUND:
The Ocala North Complex Project includes the construction of a building pad, driveways, and stormwater infrastructure, including one Drainage Retention Area (DRA), to support the proposed future Ocala Fiber Network wire and equipment shed.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
On January 11, 2024, the City of Ocala issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. CIP/240254 for the Ocala North Complex Project. On February 22, 2024, five bids were received on a unit price basis as follows:
Marion Rock, LLC was found to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a total bid of $732,436. Staff requests a 10 percent contingency in the amount of $73,243.60 to allow the City Engineer to issue change orders to cover unforeseen conditions and other conflicts which may arise during construction. With the contingency, the total Project budget is not to exceed $805,679.60.
Marion Rock, LLC, has satisfactorily completed similar projects for the City in the last five years. Staff recommends award of the contract to Marion Rock, LLC, for the construction of the Ocala North Complex Project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for this contract is budgeted as follows: 490-031-288-539-69-65010 $805,679.60
PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
These services were procured in compliance with the City's Procurement Policy.
LEGAL REVIEW:
This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
