BACKGROUND:

On December 15, 2021, the City’s Community Development Services Department received a request for rehabilitation from a low-income household located in a flood zone. The property was evaluated and it was determined that in order to bring the house up to current building standards, all windows and the HVAC system would be replaced; plumbing repairs including replacement of fixtures would be made in the kitchen and bathroom to stop all leaks; electrical upgrades would be made; all flooring replaced; the master bathroom remodeled and made ADA accessible; insulation added to the attic; the roof would be replaced; and repairs made to the exterior of the home.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

On January 11, 2024, the City issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) No.:  CDS/220897. Three (3) firms responded to the solicitation and Bruce Wayne Wiley, LLC of Ocala FL was found to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.

This project will be funded by the City’s State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) grant.
