BACKGROUND:

The Ocala Electric Utility Services Warehouse uses forklifts to safely transport and lift heavy loads throughout their facilities.  The current forklift, a 1994 Hyster-H155XL, is 30 years old, has experienced extended downtime due to parts unavailability, and is under-capacity (14,100 lbs. @ 134”).

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

Fleet recommends the purchase of a 2021 Toyota Model 50-8FG80U forklift that will provide increased stability and greater load capacity (17,500 lbs. @ 180”). This purchase will be made utilizing Florida Sheriffs Association Contract No.:  FSA20-EQU18.0, in the amount of $117,990 from Southern States Toyotalift.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding for this purchase is available in the Electric Utility Service CIP - Fleet Management account #457-032-602-531-66-64010.
