BACKGROUND:
The Ocala Airport has identified three key locations for the installation of concrete pavement designed to enhance the operational capacity and efficiency of the airport's general aviation activities and maintenance operations:
1. Fuel Tank Containment Pad
This component involves designing and constructing a concrete containment pad to accommodate future fuel tanks at the airport. The new concrete pad will mirror the design of the existing fuel tank containment area. Expanding the fuel capacity will support the airport's growing general aviation operations. All infrastructure related to the fuel tanks (e.g., piping, electrical systems, and connections to fueling equipment) will be handled under a separate contract managed by Sheltair Aviation.
2. Aircraft Wash Rack
The wash rack will be specifically designed to accommodate larger aircraft, such as the Pilatus PC-12, and will feature a concrete pad to support the equipment. The system will include an oil/water separator to ensure proper wastewater management and environmental compliance. This component enhances the airport's capabilities for aircraft maintenance, providing a dedicated facility for cleaning aircraft, improving aesthetics and functionality for aviation businesses and private aircraft owners.
3. Operations/Maintenance Parking Pad
A new concrete parking pad will accommod...
