BACKGROUND:
Ocala Fiber Network (OFN) currently purchases bandwidth from Lumen Technologies Group in the amount of $4,300 to support internet usage. OFN has renegotiated this new contract in the amount of $3,655 per month, equating to a cost savings of $23,220 over three years. This will ensure our 99.9 percent reliability rate.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
This agreement is essential to OFN providing high-speed broadband internet services and network redundancy throughout Ocala and Marion County.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for the contract is available in account 490-031-290-539-53-34050 - Other Services - Fiber for Resale. Funding for the remainder of the contract will be budgeted accordingly in future years. FY22 - $21,930, FY23 - $43,860, FY24 - $43,860 FY25 - $21,930.
