BACKGROUND:

City Council approved the Municipal Election Agreement for the provision of election services by and between the Marion County Supervisor of Elections and the City of Ocala on February 18, 2020.  This is the agreement which memorializes municipal election services and duties provided by the Marion County Supervisor of Elections.

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

The Supervisor of Elections is requesting an initial deposit of $54,236 for the City of Ocala Special Election to be held on September 16, 2025.  Proposed expenditures for the Special Election are attached and include cost estimates for three days of Early Voting and an Election Day cost estimate. A final invoice will be provided by the Supervisor of Elections once the Special Election has been certified and all third-party invoices are received.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds are budgeted for Fiscal Year 2024-25 in account 001-012-212-512-51-34010

 

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

These services were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.

 

LEGAL REVIEW:

The underlying Agreement was approved as to form and legality by former City Attorney, Robert Batsel, Jr.
