BACKGROUND:
Life Paks and automatic chest compression devices (Lucas Device) are vital pieces of equipment to assist in emergency medical incidents. Life Paks provide advanced life support defibrillation and cardiac event monitoring, while the Lucas Device provides automated chest compressions, enabling providers to focus on other critical patient needs.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
As a political subdivision of the State of Florida, the City of Ocala qualifies as an eligible user of Sourcewell cooperative purchasing agreements to procure commodities and services. Lucas Devices and Life Paks will be purchased utilizing Sourcewell Agreement No. 041823 with Stryker Sales, LLC. These commodities were competitively solicited by Sourcewell, a Minnesota agency and service cooperative. The solicitation documents have been evaluated and determined by the City’s Procurement and Contracting Department to be cost-effective and to afford the best value.
FISCAL IMPACT:
These funds have been budgeted for Fiscal Year 2025-26 in Fire’s account 001-019-910-522-66-64010.
PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
These goods were procured in compliance with the City’s procurement policy.
