BACKGROUND:

P. Ruber’s Story (Flamingo) was a participant in the 7th Biennial Ocala Outdoor Sculpture Competition. The artist Michael O’Khaen offered the sculpture as a donation, valued at $9,500, on October 28, 2025. Included was a maintenance recommendation with specified materials. Ocala Municipal Arts Commission made the recommendation to accept on December 3, 2025. City Council heard and made final approval on January 6, 2026. An official donation acceptance letter was provided to O’Khaen on January 7, 2026. P. Ruber’s Story (Flamingo) was relocated to its permanent location on Watula Ave in Tuscawilla Park.
