BACKGROUND:

Ocala Fire Rescue (OFR) budgets approximately $60,000 annually for emergency medical services (EMS) supplies.  On December 15, 2022, the City issued Invitation to Bid No. OFR/220860 for the provision of emergency medical services supplies. On March 7, 2023, City Council approved the award of contracts to Bound Tree Medical, LLC, Henry Schein, Inc., and Life Assist, Inc. for the provision of EMS supplies for a period of two years, expiring on March 6, 2025.  

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

To ensure that the City received the most timely and affordable EMS supply service possible, Bound Tree, Life Assist, and Henry Schein were contacted and agreed to exercise the first one-year renewal option under the contract's original terms.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding is included in the Fire Rescue budget 001-019-910-522-52-52010.

 

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

These goods were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.

 

LEGAL REVIEW:

This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
