BACKGROUND:

The Ocala Municipal Arts Commission shall consist of 11 members appointed by City Council for four-year terms.  Appointments shall be made based on experience and interest in the cultural arts at the sole discretion of City Council.  Whenever possible, the membership shall include a representative member from the College of Central Florida’s Visual and Performing Arts Department, Fine Arts For Ocala (FAFO), Marion County School Board, Marion Cultural Alliance (MCA), Ocala Civic Theatre, and the Ocala Symphony Orchestra.

 

Greg Thompson, the Executive and Artistic Director of the Ocala Civic Theater, has submitted his application for an unexpired four-year term ending March 1, 2028.  This appointment will fill the remaining vacancy on this 11-member board.

 

The vacancy was advertised on the City’s website.  There were no other applicants.
