BACKGROUND:
The Drainage Rehabilitation Improvement Program (DRIP) covers various stormwater improvement projects. These projects are assigned to a contractor based on the City of Ocala's (City) ongoing and/or emergency needs within the City's service area.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
On January 10, 2023, the City issued its Invitation to Bid (ITB) No.: CIP/230150 for the provision of services related to the Drainage Rehabilitation Improvement Program. Bids were requested on a unit price basis to be tabulated based on three random sample projects utilizing the bidders' line-item pricing, described as follows:
1. Expansion of an existing drainage retention area (DRA) project which included DRA dewatering, excavation of materials, grading, installation of a manhole, stormwater pipe installation, and other associated items.
2. A stormwater pipe project to connect a new construction site into the City's Stormwater Conveyance System which includes multiple manhole installation, pipe work connecting the system, removal and replacement of unsuitable materials, asphalt removal and replacement, concrete removal and replacement (sidewalks, curbing and ramps) and all other associated items.
3. Expansion of an existing DRA, installation of a new Stormwater Conveyance System and installation of a Filtration System (manufactured by Suntree Technologies, Inc.), and all other associated items.
