body

BACKGROUND:

The City of Ocala, as an entitlement community, receives State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) funding from the State of Florida. As part of the Marion County Consortium, the City receives an annual allotment of Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). With these funding sources, the City through its Community Programs Division provides homeowner rehabilitation, home reconstruction, rental assistance, and purchase assistance to low-to-moderate income residents of the City of Ocala.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

In reviewing the division’s policies, procedures, and practices, it was determined that the Purchase Assistance Policy was not consistent with current practices nor conducive for future programming. Changes have been submitted to bring the document in line with current practices and future state and federal housing plans.
