BACKGROUND:

The Recreation and Parks Department annually maintains parks, athletic fields, and facility grounds. Best practices are adhered to by providing public spaces that are safe and attractive.

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

On March 7, 2024, the City of Ocala issued Invitation to Bid (“ITB”) No.:  REC/240481 for the provision of sod, seed, and mulch delivery services on an as-needed basis. Two (2) firms responded, and the bid supplied by MegaScapes Landscape Services, Inc. was found to be the lowest responsive and responsible, as follows: 

 

 

Staff recommends approval of the award of a three-year contract with MegaScapes Landscape Services, Inc. with two optional one-year renewal terms.  Annual expenditures under the contract are anticipated to be $113,164.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The contract for the supply and delivery of sod, seed, and mulch on an as-needed basis will have an annual fiscal impact of $113,164. Adequate funds are budgeted in the Recreation and Parks Department Budget (001-021-120-572-57-46010). 

 

 

 

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

These goods and services were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.

 

LEGAL REVIEW:

This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
