BACKGROUND:
Ocala Electric Utilities needs temporary assistance with emergency outages, trouble calls, and maintenance due to a shortage of employees.
On 4/29/2021, ITB# ELE/210138 for line worker crews was posted. Procurement negotiated pricing and services with the companies that responded, and Sparks Energy, Inc. was selected for continuing services. Sparks has assisted OEU previously on a temporary basis.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Staff is satisfied with the quality of work Sparks provided. Ocala Electric Utility is requesting Sparks Energy, Inc. to assist our crews on a project basis with services that require additional crews.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are available in the FY22 budget, account #332-032-477-531-64-63020
PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
The solicitation has been reviewed for compliance with the City’s procurement policy.
