BACKGROUND:

Ocala Police Department (OPD) has a need for demolition and rehabilitation services for Room 200 at OPD headquarters.  When these renovations are completed, this room will be utilized for OPD training needs including defensive tactics, taser certification, tactical medical, active shooter, and virtual reality system training.  

The area currently being utilized for OPD’s training needs, Room 300, will be renovated in the future for the Ocala Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC). 

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

On May 6, 2024, the City issued Invitation to Bid (“ITB”) No.: OPD/240654 for the provision of demolition and rehabilitation services.  The bid closed on May 29, 2024, with Master Builders Development Group, Inc. being the sole bidder. Staff recommends approval. 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds are budgeted in the Infrastructure Surtax Fund (120-018-851-521-69-65010). 

 

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

These services were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.

 

LEGAL REVIEW:

This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
