BACKGROUND:

As presented in the Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget process, Fleet Management requests the purchase of new and replacement vehicles and equipment to accomplish operational tasks for City departments.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

Units 05-184 and 05-185 have provided many years of dependable service but have experienced increased maintenance requirements and have reached the end of their useful service lives. Replacing these vehicles is necessary to maintain a reliable emergency response fleet and ensure that dependable apparatus is available to respond safely and effectively to emergencies.

Staff recommends approval to purchase two light rescue vehicles from Matheny Motor Truck Company for a total amount of $890,634, utilizing the Florida Sheriffs Association Cooperative Purchasing Program, Contract No. FSA25-VEF19.0.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds are allocated in account 092-019-602-522-66-64010 - Fire Rescue Machinery and Equipment.

These goods were procured in compliance with the City’s procurement policy.
