BACKGROUND:
The City of Ocala operates two public swimming pools and one public splash pad, each requiring chemical treatment to maintain a sanitary condition and properly balance the water to Florida Department of Health standards. Jervey Gantt Aquatic Center is 180,000 gallons, Hampton Aquatic Center is 160,000 gallons, and Lily's Splash Pad is 6,000 gallons. The Recreation & Parks Department employs certified pool operators to oversee the operation and maintenance of all three facilities.
The vendor will provide and deliver bulk pool water treatment chemicals, lease chemical pumping equipment, and provide preventive maintenance for two commercial pools and one commercial splash pad.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
? The City is required to treat re-circulated water in public pools and splash pads to ensure compliance with the sanitation and safety standards for public pools as set forth in Chapter 64E-9, Florida Administrative Code: Public Swimming Pools and Bathing Places.
? On Friday, November 19, 2021, the Procurement Department issued ITB# Pool Chemicals and Equipment REC/211027
? Two vendors responded by the December 7, 2021 deadline for submittal of bids.
