BACKGROUND:

On May 3, 2023, the City of Ocala (City) entered into Contract No. CIP/230266 with C.W. Contracting, Inc. (CWR) for annual Transportation Rehabilitation Improvement Program (TRIP) projects. The initial term of the contract was for two years and expires on May 2, 2025. Per the contract terms, two additional one-year renewals may be enacted with the possibility of a maximum 3 percent pricing increase at renewal.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

CWR has agreed to renew the contract for the first one-year renewal and requested the maximum increase of 3 percent. If approved, the renewal will extend the contract to May 2, 2026.

CWR is a local contractor with excellent references. They have performed well on City projects and consistently produced high-quality work.  Therefore, staff recommends approval of the first one-year renewal option of the contract.
