BACKGROUND:
On October 19, 2022, the City issued its Invitation to Bid (“ITB”) No. OPD/220816 for the provision of uniforms for law enforcement personnel. A total of five (5) bids were received and Blue Line Innovations, LLC, was found to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The bid submitted by Heritage Armory, LLC, was rejected for failure to meet uniform design specifications.
The law enforcement uniforms will be worn by Ocala Police Department (“OPD”) uniformed officers. The bid pricing includes sizing and tailoring of the OPD uniforms.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Uniform samples were requested from all bidders. The samples submitted by the lowest bidder, Heritage Armory, LLC, was rejected due to failure to meet uniform design specifications. Staff recommends awarding to the next lowest bidder, Blue Line Innovation, LLC.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are budgeted and available in account 001-018-822-521-52-52010.
PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
These goods and services were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.
LEGAL REVIEW:
This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
