BACKGROUND:

The City of Ocala requires the services of an experienced vendor to provide wastewater tanker services to support the Water Resources Department with the removal and disposal of liquid residuals from the City’s wastewater treatment facilities.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

On January 4, 2023, the City issued its Invitation to Bid (ITB) No.: CIP/230112 for the provision of wastewater tanker services.  On February 1, 2023, one (1) bid was received from American Pipe & Tank, Inc.

American Pipe & Tank, Inc., was found to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.  American Pipe & Tank, Inc., has performed similar work for the City during the last five (5) years.  Staff has compared American Pipe & Tank, Inc.’s pricing to others in the marketplace and found the offered pricing to be reasonable.

Staff recommends approval of this two-year contract for a not-to-exceed amount of $100,000 over the course of the initial term with two (2) optional, one-year renewals.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding for this contract has been budgeted in FY23 in account strings 455-030-300-533-53-34010 and 455-030-303-535-53-34010.

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

These services were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.

LEGAL REVIEW:

This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
