body

BACKGROUND:

On July 31, 2024, the City issued Invitation to Bid No. AIR/240876 for the provision of traffic control backup weather equipment. The solicitation closed on August 19, 2024, with a single bid being received from Wolen, LLC.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

Existing backup weather equipment site no longer meets FAA siting criteria, has failed, and requires replacement.

New backup weather site is located adjacent the primary weather instruments.

The contract includes an additional $950 over the bid amount for the installation of an outdoor unlimited power source (UPS).

Funding for this project is provided through a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) grant, matched by the Airport. The City Council approved this funding at its meeting on May 6, 2025.

The Airport Advisory Board has expressed its support for this project.
