BACKGROUND:

Ocala Electric Utility (OEU) requests authorization to purchase a three-phase meter test board to replace its existing meter testing equipment, which has been in service for approximately 30 years. The new equipment will support the OEU’s metering program by providing accurate testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of electric meters. Replacing the existing equipment will improve operational efficiency and ensure the continued accuracy and reliability of the OEU’s electric meter testing program.

The City issued Request for Proposals (RFP) No. ELE/260570 on April 1, 2026. A selection committee evaluated proposals based on technical capability, compliance with specifications, vendor experience, system integration, training, and ongoing support. Following the evaluation process, Procurement issued a notice of intent to award to Tesco - The Eastern Specialty Company.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

Staff recommends approval of the purchase of the three-phase meter test board from Tesco - The Eastern Specialty Company.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds in the amount of $51,186 are available in account number 457-032-233-531-66-64010 to cover the purchase cost.

 

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

These goods were procured in compliance with the City’s procurement policy. 

 

LEGAL REVIEW:

N/A. The Terms and Conditions contained in the City’s Purchase Order will govern this purchase.
