BACKGROUND:
On April 19, 2020, the City Council voted to terminate the employment of City Manager Sandra Wilson and instructed council member Ire Bethea to negotiate the payout terms stated in Ms. Wilson’s employment agreement with the City.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Mr. Bethea and Ms. Wilson agree that, pursuant to the terms of the employment agreement between the parties, Ms. Wilson is entitled to a payout in the amount of $294,227.64. In exchange, Ms. Wilson agrees to sign a General Release resolving all issues related to her employment with the City. A copy of the payout calculation, Ms. Wilson’s Employment Agreement and the General Release are attached hereto.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost of Ms. Wilson’s payout is $294,227.64. Funds are available in the General Fund Reserve for Salaries account (001-099-999-513-81-99120) to support this expense.
PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
N/A
LEGAL REVIEW:
The payout computation and General Release were reviewed by the City Attorney for form and legality.
ALTERNATIVE:
Don’t approve the payout amount and do not require Ms. Wilson to execute a General Release.
