BACKGROUND:

Fire Rescue budgets for annual ground maintenance. The procurement department issued RFQ# OFR/220028 on January 13, 2022, requesting bids from vendors to provide ground maintenance over a two-year period. The vendor will provide all materials, equipment, and labor to provide professional grounds maintenance services at all fire station locations throughout the City.

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

The City received nine bids; six vendors were responsive. Southern Lawn Care Mid Florida, Inc. was the low bidder and met all qualifications in the scope of work. They will provide ground maintenance and 34 cuts annually for all fire stations throughout the city.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The estimated expenditure for grounds maintenance is $109,140 for the initial two-year contract with two optional, one-year renewals.  Funding is included in the Fire Rescue budget account 001-019-910-522-52-34010.

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

The solicitation has been reviewed and approved for compliance with the City’s procurement policies.

 

LEGAL REVIEW:

The contract will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by the City Attorney, Robert W. Batsel, Jr.
