BACKGROUND:
The Board of Trustees of the Ocala Police Officers’ Retirement System is comprised of five members: two police officers elected by a majority of the officers, two residents of the City whom the City Council appoints, and a fifth member selected by the other four members. Each serves a two-year term and may be reappointed.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Officer Holden Powell was recently elected to a two-year term by his fellow officers. He was elected by a majority of the officers voting in an election held in July 2025.
The Police Officers’ Retirement System Board of Trustees recommends approval of his appointment by City Council.
