BACKGROUND:
The Junior League of Ocala will hold a fundraiser ("Pints for Parks") at Infinite Ale Works on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm that will benefit City Recreation Programs. The event will include Food Trucks and live entertainment on SW Third Street. Infinite Ale Works will apply for a permit with the state to extend its licensed premises to allow beer and wine on SW Third Street.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Section 6-7(b) of the Code of Ordinances, City of Ocala, Florida, provides an exception to allow for the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages on streets, sidewalks, and public parking facilities for special events.
Section 6-7(b) states that such special events must be recognized and approved by resolution of City Council at a public hearing.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Junior League and Infinite Ale Works are working with other City departments (Recreation, Public Works, and Engineering) concerning street closures and the Ocala Police Department concerning security during the event.
