BACKGROUND:
The City of Ocala, as an entitlement community, receives federal funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the form of a yearly grant allocation. Pursuant to receiving this allocation, the City is required to submit an annual action plan that stipulates how the grant allocation will be disbursed and how the City will accomplish the national objectives of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
To fulfill the requirements of the CDBG grant agreement, the City prepares a five-year Consolidated Plan to guide the activities funded by the CDBG grant from October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2029. Also, an annual plan of action is submitted to HUD each year of the Consolidated Plan period, outlining the approved activities that will be funded for that fiscal year before the allotted grant is awarded.
FISCAL IMPACT:
In October 2024, the City anticipates receiving $495,000 which will be used in accordance with the attached action plan. These funds will be appropriated by budget resolution when awarded.
