BACKGROUND:
The Estella Byrd Whitman Community Health Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of underserved individuals in the community. They provide comprehensive primary care services for the entire family, addressing various health concerns, including chronic diseases, acute illnesses, and childhood disorders.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
To expand its reach and better serve the community, the Estella Byrd Whitman Community Health Center is requesting a donation of two vehicles from the City of Ocala. These vehicles will play a vital role in:
• Improving patient access: Transporting patients to and from medical appointments.
• Strengthening community engagement: Facilitating participation in educational outreach events within the community.
Staff recommends the donation of two surplus City vehicles, which are listed below. These vehicles are no longer suitable for City use.
