BACKGROUND:
The Ocala Police Department is responsible for maintaining its facilities in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition, thereby ensuring a healthy environment for employees and visitors. This includes professional cleaning of the Ocala Police Department Headquarters, West District Office, East District Office, and Uniform Drug Enforcement Strike Team Office. These services will cover offices, reception areas, restrooms, breakrooms, kitchens, rental lounges, and auditoriums.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
On May 12, 2026, the City issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) #OPD/260715 to secure janitorial services for the Ocala Police Department. The bidding process aimed to establish a three-year contract. The bid closed on June 8, 2026, with 17 cleaning companies submitting proposals.
After a comprehensive evaluation of the bids, notice of intent to award was provided to JJ Holding and Services, LLC.

Staff recommends approval.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding of $5,950 is available in the Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget account 001-018-821-521-52-34010 - Other Services, and $35,700 will be budgeted in Fiscal Year 2026-2027 and in Fiscal Year 2027-2028.
PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
These services were procured in compliance with the City’s procurement policy.
LEGAL REVIEW:
This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
