BACKGROUND:
* Petitioner: Lake Louise, LLC
* Property Owner: Lake Louise, LLC
* Agent: Fred Roberts
* This property is contiguous to the city limits. It was platted for single-family development, but most lots and infrastructure were not developed.
* Annexation was requested to obtain city services. Adoption of Ordinance 2022-15 to annex the property is scheduled for the January 18, 2022, City Council meeting.
* The policy will require that a PD, Planned Development, will be submitted for the entirety of the development for review and approval by City Council. The policy also addresses dwelling unit cap, ingress/egress connections to SW 7th Ave and SW 32nd Street, buffers, zoning, and traffic analysis.
* Low Intensity land use is proposed along with the associated land use policy.
* Introduction and adoption of ordinances for the land use change and policy will be scheduled upon completion of review by DEO and other state agencies.
* The Ocala Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval at its meeting on December 13, 2021 with a 5 to 0 vote.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The requested Future Land Use Policy is consistent with the Low Intensity category requested and is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. Approval of the future land use policy transmittal to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) is appropriate.
