BACKGROUND:
This agenda item was originally presented at the April 7, 2026, City Council meeting, where a two-to-two vote was recorded. As one member was absent from the meeting, Council requested that a second vote be postponed to the following meeting, when all five members would be in attendance.
The Planning and Zoning Commission is designated as the local planning agency and is empowered to perform all duties and activities set forth in F.S. 163.3161 - 163.3211.
The board is composed of seven members. The term of board member Buck Martin expired on March 1, 2026. Two applications were submitted. Mr. Martin applied for reappointment, and Thaddius Neasman applied for appointment. Over the past year, the Planning and Zoning Commission held eleven meetings, of which Mr. Martin attended eight.
Council is asked to vote for one applicant to be appointed for a new four-year term ending March 1, 2030.
