BACKGROUND:

State funding is available to conduct investigations designed to combat illegal fentanyl activity. This grant provides reimbursement for approved fentanyl-related activities including investigative operations. The Ocala Police department has applied for $25,250 in funds to provide the Unified Drug Enforcement Drug Enforcement Strike team with overtime to conduct investigative operations.

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

Grant funding will enable the Ocala Police department drug agents to work overtime hours to conduct fentanyl eradication operations.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

A $25,250 award will support overtime operations, with no match required. Funds will be held in account number 001-050-827-521-52-14010.

 

An accompanying budget resolution is provided on the consent portion of the agenda.
