BACKGROUND:
The Airport is requesting approval of Contract No.: AIR/200063 (A and B) with Eason Lawn Service, LLC and D & J Lawn Service, LLC for ground maintenance services of drainage retention areas (DRA) and the Airport terminal building grounds. The mowing is based on a set number of cuts per month for each month of the calendar year. The scheduled mowing ensures compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) wildlife hazard management guidelines and maintains the appearance of the Airport terminal building grounds.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
On February 19, 2020, the City issued Request for Quote (RFQ) No. AIR/200063 as a Diverse Small Business Enterprise (DSBE) Program set aside solicitation for grounds maintenance services at the Ocala International Airport. Eason Lawn Service, LLC and D & J Lawn Service, LLC were found to be the lowest and second lowest responsive and responsible bidders.
On April 1, 2020, the City Manager's Office approved the award of two-year contracts for ground maintenance services to Eason Lawn Services, LLC and to D & J Lawn Service, LLC for the Airport terminal building grounds. Both agreements included two (2) optional, one-year renewal periods. The exercise of the first one-year renewal options for both agreements was approved by the City Manager's Office effective April 1, 2022.
Staff recommends approval of the second one-year renewal with Eason Lawn Service, LLC and D & J Lawn Service, LLC for the period of April 1, 2023, through March 31, 2024.
