BACKGROUND:

The Marion Technical Institute’s (MTI) automotive technology program has requested the donation of a surplus vehicle to enhance classroom theory with practical, hands-on training.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

This donation will benefit the students within MTI’s automotive technology program to receive up-to-date knowledge and training on today’s modern vehicles. Hands-on training boosts material retention, diagnostic skills, and provides an easier transition for students to enter a career as an automotive technician.

Staff recommends the donation of a 2014 Ford Interceptor.  This vehicle was deemed a total loss on October 10, 2022, and is no longer operable.  This vehicle will be used for instruction-only purposes and will not be licensed or tagged.  A salvage title will be issued by DMV.
