BACKGROUND:
The Ocala Police Department received community donations totaling $1,100 to be utilized for the K-9 Unit.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The Ocala Police Department is seeking authorization to accept and appropriate donations to support and enhance K-9-related activities.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The donation of $1,100 will pay K-9-related expenses. The revenue will be recognized in account 610-366-000-000-16-36694, and the expenses will be recorded in account 610-018-808-521-52-52010.

BUDGET RESOLUTION 2025-165

A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2024-25 BUDGET TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE COMMUNITY DONATIONS FOR K-9 RELATED EXPENSES IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,100

WHEREAS, the designated gift account in the Police Trust Fund was created to deposit revenues received from community donations; and

WHEREAS, the Ocala Police Department received donations from Wilbur D. Green, Ocala Chapter #29 Order of the Eastern Star, and Mike Scott Plumbing in the amount of $1,100 for K-9 related expenses; and

WHEREAS, the utilization of this donation will enhance the K-9 police unit to serve the citizens of the City of Ocala and Marion County.
