BACKGROUND:
In August 2019, Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., developed the City of Ocala Resource Plan - Wastewater Master Plan Report. The objective of the report was to identify capacity limitations within the wastewater conveyance system and to provide recommended improvements to meet future demands in the service area. A system hydraulic model was built based on five-year, 10-year, and 20-year projected flows. Multiple future scenarios were analyzed to evaluate the anticipated growth and system expansion while development is occurring. These scenarios demonstrated that the conveyance system locations need to be improved. A list of wastewater system capital improvements was developed, including their estimated costs.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Five years after the development of the original Wastewater Master Plan, the Water Resources Engineering Division has determined that an update to the Plan is needed due to the growth around the city. The purpose of this Task Work Order is to develop a comprehensive Wastewater Master Plan update to identify and prioritize capital projects and to understand the improvements required to accommodate the new developments coming online over the next 20 years. The updated master plan will focus on capital improvements needed to serve the utility service area's five-year, 10-year, and 20-year future needs, analyzing a new hydraulic model and providing a prioritized list of recommendations.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for this Task Work Order is available in account string 616-03...
