body

BACKGROUND:

The City of Ocala's Facilities Management Department maintains heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in City-owned buildings to provide a safe, reliable, and comfortable environment. To supplement these efforts, an HVAC contractor is needed for additional installation, maintenance, and repair services.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

On April 3, 2025, the City released Invitation to Bid (ITB) No.: FAC/250553 for HVAC Repair and Installation Services.  Ten (10) competitive bids were submitted, and the bid from Sherman Mechanical Contractors was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible. The lowest pricing was determined by labor cost per hour.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding is allocated in Fiscal Year 2024-25 in account 001-026-321-519-51-46010 - Facilities Repair & Maintenance and will be budgeted likewise for Fiscal Year 2025-26 and Fiscal Year 2026-27.
