BACKGROUND:
The Water Resources Department recently purchased an elevated steel water tower from Windstream Utilities located at 6131 SW 80th Street in Ocala. The tower was purchased to help with pressure issues on the west side of the City. The tower, built in 2002, now requires recoating. This work will enhance the structure's appearance and extend its lifespan.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
On February 27, 2025, the City issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. WRS/250473 for the provision of these services. Six vendors responded to the solicitation and the lowest bidder meeting all requirements was Southeastern Tank & Tower, Inc. The Bid Tabulation is attached along with a draft contract.
Staff recommends approval.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Water Resources Department has sufficient funds in the Fiscal Year 2025 budget, in account string 308-030-266-533-53-46010.
PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
These services were procured in compliance with the City's Procurement Policy.
LEGAL REVIEW:
This contract will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
