BACKGROUND:

The City of Ocala’s Engineering Department was awarded grant funds from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to complete the City of Ocala Comprehensive Vulnerability Assessment (VA).

The City of Ocala will complete the VA pursuant to Section 380.093, Florida Statutes and develop an Adaptation Plan. The project will include public outreach and stakeholder engagement.

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

This grant will provide funding for the VA, which will be used in the development of the overall stormwater master plan for the City.   Vulnerabilities identified in the VA will be used by the Engineering Department to identify mitigation projects for future stormwater capital improvements.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding for this grant will be appropriated into account 158-050-388-538-53-31010 in the amount of $350,000. A budget resolution will be presented to appropriate the grant funding.

 

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

This grant agreement has been reviewed by the Procurement and Contracting Officer in compliance with City policy.

 

LEGAL REVIEW:

This agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
