BACKGROUND:

The Facilities Management Department oversees the maintenance of flooring and carpeting in approximately 80 buildings. Proactive carpet cleaning not only enhances overall appearance and safety, but also extends the lifespan of the carpets.

On March 31, 2021, the City issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ FAC/210090) for low-moisture carpet cleaning services. Cubix, Inc. was awarded a three-year contract with the option of one additional two-year renewal.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

The Facilities Management staff is satisfied with the services offered by Cubix, Inc. and considers renewing this contract advantageous to maintain the cleanliness of carpeting in City buildings.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding for this contract is available in Facilities account 001-026-321-519-51-34010 (Other Services) and will be allocated throughout the fiscal years.

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

These services were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.
