BACKGROUND:

City staff seeks approval to sell three (3) one-acre surplus parcels to Ocala Aviation for the construction of an aviation student dormitory. On May 31, 2022, the City issued its Invitation to Bid (“ITB”) No. CIP/220506 for Surplus Parcels - City of Ocala.  Parcels #23820-015-01, 23820-015-02, and 23820-015-03 were included in the solicitation.  Responses were submitted directly to the Real Estate Division.  Ocala Aviation was the sole respondent, who submitted a purchase price of $300,000 for the three (3) parcels.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

The City of Ocala Water Resources Department has owned the parcels since 2010. All City departments reviewed the parcels for current or future use. Staff recommends approval.

FISCAL IMPACT:

$300,000 in revenue to the Water Resources Department from the sale of the surplus parcels in account 455-364-000-000-16-36422. A budget resolution will be presented to City Council to appropriate the revenue once the closing has taken place.

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

This Agreement has been reviewed in accordance with the City’s Procurement Policy.
