BACKGROUND:

Ocala Fire Rescue (“OFR”) budgets approximately $60,000 per year for emergency medical service (“EMS”) supplies.  On December 15, 2022, the City issued its Invitation to Bid (“ITB”) No. OFR/220860 for the provision of emergency medical services supplies.  On January 17, 2023, bids were received from four (4) vendors.  Bid results are summarized below:

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

To ensure that the City receives the most timely and affordable EMS supply service possible, it was determined that awarding the contract to multiple vendors would afford the City best value.  As the lowest three responsive and responsible bidders, Bound Tree Medical LLC, Henry Schein, Inc., and Life-Assist, Inc. were collectively awarded the contract.  School Health Corporation was not the lowest responsible bidder on any of the line items for which they submitted pricing and did not submit pricing for all items.

The aggregate expenditure for EMS supplies across all three vendors during the initial two-year contract term is estimated not to exceed $120,000.  Each contract includes two (2) optional one-year renewals.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding in included in the Fire Rescue budget 001-019-910-522-52-52010.
