body
BACKGROUND:
In 2009, the City of Ocala entered an interlocal agreement with Marion County for the transfer of Animal Control Services to Marion County. This agreement included an obligation of the City to provide additional funding, personnel, and equipment to the County during the transition for the initial years of 2010, 2011, and 2012. Marion County and the City of Ocala recognize that circumstances have changed since the 2009 agreement and now desire to enter a new interlocal agreement to further define the level of service and address operational and funding issues.

The City will compensate the County for enhanced animal control services which includes all salary, benefit, equipment, and operational costs associated with two Animal Control Officers, totaling $314,044 for this fiscal year.

FISCAL IMPACT:
$150,000 is already budgeted in account 001-012-210-512-51-81010. $352,700 will be transferred from General Fund Reserve for Contingencies to 0...
