BACKGROUND:
The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board and City Council adopted CRA Resolution 2017-35 on April 18, 2017, to establish the Downtown Ocala Redevelopment Advisory Committee (Advisory Committee), appointing seven members to serve on the committee. Advisory Committee members are required to be property owners and representatives of downtown Ocala organizations. Members serve four-year terms and may be reappointed for additional terms. There is one vacancy on the Downtown Ocala CRA Advisory Committee. This agenda item relates to Strategic Priority 4 of the Ocala City Council: Operational Excellence.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
There are four applicants for the vacant position on the Advisory Committee. Summaries of their qualifications are provided below.
Billye Mallory
Billye Mallory is currently employed by AdventHealth Ocala. Ms. Mallory is eligible for consideration due to her role in the Ocala Main Street organization, where she serves on the Promotions Committee. Donald Gulling
Donald Gulling is a managing member of Mark's Prime Steakhouse of Ocala and has invested in multiple downtown properties. Mr. Gulling owns property and businesses within the Downtown Ocala CRA subarea, making him eligible for consideration.
