BACKGROUND:

On April 28, 2025, the parties began negotiating the terms for successor collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and, on August 18, 2025, tentative agreements were reached.  The Fraternal Order of Police ratified the CBAs on September 2 and 3, 2025.

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

The City management team agrees with the terms of the CBAs and recommends approval.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The costs associated with the terms of these agreements are included in the Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget and will be transferred to the Ocala Police Department's budget upon approval.

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

N/A

LEGAL REVIEW:

The proposed CBAs have been reviewed for form and legality by the City’s labor attorney, John W. Keller.

ALTERNATIVE:

Continue to bargain for an acceptable agreement.
