body

BACKGROUND:

The City established the Affordable Housing Fund to incentivize new construction and the rehabilitation of affordable housing by offering funding to offset development charges and fees, including building permits, plumbing permits, electrical permits, mechanical permits, gas permits, fire review fees, site plan review fees, fees to access city-owned drainage retention areas, water and sewer impact fees, water meter charges, and sidewalks.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

In accordance with Sec. 106-105 of the Housing Incentive Fund, Team Delva Properties Inc., a for-profit developer of affordable housing, operating in the City of Ocala, has applied for the reimbursement of applicable permit charges and fees associated with the new construction of an affordable housing unit located at 817 NW 13th Avenue.  The home will have a total ground floor area of 1,781 square feet, including three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a two-car garage. The attached Agreement for Lien will allow the City to place a lien on the property for 10 years to ensure that an eligible low-income household retains occupancy of the home.  Staff has reviewed the application and recommends approval.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The $8,188 will be paid from account 112-016-064-554-55-82010, which has a balance of $150,000.
