BACKGROUND:

Staff requests approval to sell surplus parcel #2260-171-009, which is 0.17 acres or 7440 square feet, to the Abiaka Family for the market value price of $13,168. The Broker’s Opinion of Value is based on recent, similar, and comparable sales in the area. The parcel is being conveyed as a City-initiated sale according to City Ordinance Sec. 2-313 - Surplus Property (Section “C”).    

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

The parcel is from the City’s Surplus Property List, which the City Council previously approved. The parcel has been reviewed and accepted by all City Departments as surplus. There is no current or future City related use for the parcel. Staff recommends approval. 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The revenue generated from the sale will be deposited into account #112-364-000-000-16-36429.

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

The Contract for Sale and Purchase has been reviewed by the Procurement and Contracting Officer and complies with City policy.

LEGAL REVIEW:

This Agreement has been reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
