This is a city staff initiated request that proposes to change the Future Land Use designation for city owned subject properties from Medium Intensity/Special District to Public.
Staff has reviewed several city owned properties and determined that they lack the appropriate city future land use and zoning designations. Accordingly, staff has initiated petitions to amend both the Future Land Use Map and Zoning Map of the City of Ocala for certain city owned properties. This amendment aims to ensure proper land use and zoning for the subject city-owned properties, further supporting the city's capacity to deliver or improve municipal services and infrastructure.
The subject properties in this amendment include a recently acquired property (Parcel ID# 25502-000-00), providing a combined amendment acreage of approximately 11.2 contiguous acres across three parcels. These properties also lie contiguous to city owned property to the south providing additional opportunities for the expanding public services and infrastructure within the surrounding area.
