BACKGROUND:
In April 2024, Council appointed Lauren Monahan to the Recreation Commission for a three-year term ending March 1, 2027. Unfortunately, Ms. Monahan resigned shortly after due to scheduling conflicts.
Three applications have been received for this vacancy: Harvey Morrissey, Kelly McAtee, and Zara Torres.
This board requires a majority of members to be City residents; there are currently four City residents on the board, and as such, this vacancy may be filled with a resident of either the City or County.
Council may vote for one of these applicants to fill the vacancy.
Appointment of one of these applicants will return the board to full member status, and the vacancy was posted on the City’s website.
